| "Almost
40% of fourth graders do not read even at the basic level and a majority
of students do not read at the proficient level."
- James Wendorf, Executive Director, NationalCenter for Learning Disabilities. "Approximately
70% of young African American and 65-70% of Hispanic children cannot
read. The majority of children at risk for reading failure are children
from poverty."

The U.S. has a population in need that is far larger than typically or statistically identified as "reading disabled." Millions of young childen lack phonological awareness skills, the most critical component of reading success. Because reading is the cornerstone of academic as well as social success, these children will continue to experience learning problems throughout their school careers and life.Recognizing the intense need for a better way to attract and get participation from very young children, Linda Stoler developed her Multi-Modal Method, using music, movement and manual motion or sign language to assist all children, ages birth through eight years, to enhance and accelerate phonological awareness, language development and early literacy skills. As a speech/language pathologist of more than 38 years, Linda Stoler has seen the overwhelmingly positive results of her instructional methods over and over again.
As children become active participants in the learning process they are empowered. They exhibit greater self-esteem and motivation. The learning becomes nearly seamless as children acquire better ability to focus, attend, listen, retain and retrieve information. As the whole body and the whole mind—using both the right and left sides of the brain—is stimulated, the physical, social/emotional, intellectual and spiritual aspects of a child come into a simple and elegant, harmonious balance. Creativity is supported, self esteem is validated. This leads to better and far more clear communication.
As individual beings, each of us learns differently; we each use a variety of our own neural pathways to accomplish the tasks and routines connected to learning. As educators of the children of this new century, this new millenium, we must begin to offer new methodologies and commitment to enhance and expand language skill and literacy success. We can pre-empt and prevent learning and reading problems. Linda Stoler's proven methods, once experienced and utilized, can revolutionize Early Childhood Learning. Linda has been teaching the tools necessary for Language for 40 years. Those who have applied her teaching methods have consistently commented on how effective they have been with young children.
